For our location, we knew before we even decided on the plot that we wanted a summery feel. As Charlotte, Caitlin and Aimee were going on holiday together and we were all going to the same festivals we wanted to use valuable time to film there and make it seem authentic.
Location 1: Paphos, Cyprus
In Cyprus, it is renown for the hot weather and sunny beaches which is why it was perfect for filming to occur here. We used the night life and sunsets to our advantage which appears in our trailer. Caitlin would be spending two weeks having a genuinely good time here, therefore we thought this might be a good idea.
Location 2: V Festival Weekend, Chemlsford
V Festival was a three-day camping festival where Emily, Charlotte, Aimee, Caitlin and I all stayed for the whole weekend. During the weekend, we had plenty of time to film and capture real-life moments, which included a number of people who all gave consent to star in our trailer.
Location 3: Standon Calling Weekend, Standon
Standon Calling Festival was one of our ideas due to Emily and I both going and staying there for four days. This would give us plenty of time to film any potential scenes even without Caitlin with us. This is just an idea as the filming Emily and I both got isn’t that useful but it helped us to decide whether to continue with festival filming.
Location 4: Southend-on-Sea, Essex
Southend is local to us, as it only takes an hour or so to reach. This is an idea which will provide us with an amusement aspect as Southend has an Adventure Island and will show Caitlin doing other things such as eating Candyfloss, going to the pier and in the arcade as well as filming the car journey there.
Location 5: Blake’s Golf Club, Northweald
Blake’s Gold Club is an idea due to the 18th birthday parties us girls may be going to throughout the year. At the Golf Club we can film Caitlin having a good time at a friend’s birthday party, which will provide happiness and a sense of becoming relaxed. This is practical because we won’t be going out of our way to go to a location, we can use our time practically.
Location 6: Clacton-on-Sea, Essex
Clacton-on-sea is also a practical idea as it’s not far away, and has a really pretty beach that we can potentially film Caitlin having fun on and enjoying her time in the sea. We would need to visit this location soon however, as it will get cold and rainy quickly from now on and the shots won’t be as realistic.
Location 7: The Hall at our school
This is an idea or where we can film Jaq when he is reading the news report. We recently just put this together and it seems like a good idea as we can’t find anything wrong with the location. Only problem is we will need to film when the hall is free, and as lunch and PE lessons take part in here this may be difficult. This location is good however as we can easily place a desk in the frame (in the second picture there are already a few desks on stage) and its a spacious area where the green screen can easily be put up and the lighting can be manipulated so it’s at its best it can possibly be.
