The character we were looking for fitted the genre convention of a drama. During my research I found that people look for a character they can associate with and follow the journey of during the duration of the film. The audience will want to sympathise with the protagonist, especially if the character is vulnerable or unstable which is how Caitlin will be presented throughout the second half of our trailer.
We wanted to cast a teenage girl that the audience can relate to, hence why we chose Caitlin because she is a stylish and pretty girl that the audience can relate too and empathise for. Caitlin also has a lot in common with the target audience as they are of similar age therefore they will find it easier to relate.
